Brittany and Kyle had a beautiful evening ceremony at 105 Worth Event Centre in Asheboro, NC. I really enjoyed photographing their unique ceremony layout - instead of a traditional single aisle, the couple opted for a circular seating arrangement so they could be surrounded by family and friends as they exchanged their vows. They opted to include a hand-fasting ceremony, which is an ancient Celtic and Scandinavian tradition in which a couple’s left hands are bound together as a symbol of the commitment and the vows being exchanged on the wedding day. This tradition has grown and been adapted by many cultures and traditions, and it is also where the term “tie the knot” originated (read more about the hand-fasting ceremony and some cool ways to make it your own in this great blog by All Faiths Wedding Officiants of the Triad).
After the ceremony, Brittany, Kyle, and the bridal party snuck off for some portraits before the reception. Downtown Asheboro is a fabulous place to photograph because of the many murals and architectural elements that are readily available and in close proximity. Once we were through with portraits it was time for the grand entrance - Brittany and Kyle were greeted with cheers from family and friends as they made their way into the reception, and their first dance as husband and wife. From there, Something Different Catering provided a delicious buffet dinner and the party was full of joy and fun thanks to a great music selection by DJ Doc Mike. The evening concluded with a sparkler sendoff and a few more gorgeous sunset pictures. Good Music, good food, good views - we couldn't have asked for a better evening!
