Chrissy & Dave are a very relaxed and fun couple. Although they are from Atlanta, GA they chose Old Salem for its family connection and beautiful views. It was here in the heart of Old Salem that they decided to do their engagement session, as well as exchanging their vows in the historic St. Philips African Moravian Church, beginning their journey as husband and wife. Old Salem Museum & Gardens provided tons of gorgeous photo opportunities with everything from historic buildings to scenic, tree filled streets, and the Old Salem Heritage Bridge.
Being in a historic church, there was an overwhelming sense of history and significance. I loved the old style church pews and the beautifully carved pulpit, as well as the dual aisle, which provided a special entry for the entire wedding party. After their ceremony, the bride & groom were swept away in fairytale fashion on a romantic horse & carriage ride. When we arrived at the reception, the venue transformation was jaw dropping - taking a space with brick walls and bare floors and completely reimagining the space with large white lanterns, uplighting, delicate place settings, and stunning floral accents. The party was nonstop fun thanks to Bantum Rooster, a fun and funky band from Asheboro, and the meal was deliciously modern southern fare provided by the Painted Plate. The night ended in a really unique and fun New Orleans-style musical sendoff, with the horn section of the band accompanying the bride & groom out into the streets for their dramatic exit.
Congratulations to Mr. & Mrs. Pless!
