I had an amazing experience photographing Serena & John's beautiful wedding day. The day started at John's apartment in Burlington, where I had the opportunity to get to know him and his best man. It was so relaxed and low key, it really showed how confident and certain he was that today was really going to be the best day of his life. From there, we headed over to Our Lady of Grace Church in Greensboro. The stunning stained glass and towering pipe organ was the perfect backdrop for their traditional wedding ceremony. The bridesmaids looked lovely in deep green dresses, which were complemented by the Christmas decorations that were on display at the church. Serena looked stunning as she came down the aisle of the church, and in that moment I could not imagine a more perfect image.
After the ceremony, the newlyweds and their bridal party headed over to Bicentennial Gardens for pictures, while the guests went to Suite 300 in downtown Greensboro. Housed in the historic S. H. Kress building in the heart of downtown, this stylish venue blends vintage and modern design to create a warm and inviting atmosphere from the moment the guests arrive, greeted by the gorgeous copper waterfall in the entryway. The ballroom was beautifully adorned with floral arrangements by Eliana Nunes Floral & Event Design, with centerpieces featuring great winter elements (including pine cones - what a great idea!). The cake, created by Sweet Meg's, was a beautiful addition to the room, looking as gorgeous as it was delicious. The most notable thing about this reception was the amazing energy and joy shared by all in attendance - Matt from Drake's DJ kept the dance floor packed with a great variety of songs that everyone had a blast dancing to. I don't remember the last time I have seen a groom dance with such vigor as John, and it was clear both he and Serena had a fantastic time along with all of their guests. My other favorite moment was when, in addition to parent dances, Serena shared a special dance with her grandfather. What a beautiful, memorable moment, and surely one that she will treasure always.
It was a pleasure getting to spend the day with Serena & John. Congratulations and best wishes to the happy couple!
