We returned to Millikan Farms in Sophia, NC for Brooke and Johnathan’s wedding. For all the rustic, barn-loving engaged couples out there, Millikan Farms is a fabulous option! This historic barn dates to 1938. It has been renovated but still holds that original charm and character. One of our favorite parts of Millikan Farms is that any size wedding can be accommodated. From an intimate elopement to a lavish party, couples can create the wedding day of their dreams!
Brooke and Johnathan were no exception. Our bubbly and excited bride, along with her laid-back and fun-loving groom, chose Millikan Farms for their late-March wedding. Brooke and Johnathan’s color scheme included lavenders, purples and greens. These fresh and bright Spring colors fit perfectly within the wood panels of the barn. The details were also consistently integrated throughout the ceremony, reception and bridal party.
Brooke incorporated a handful of family heirlooms into her wedding day look and lilac bouquet. She creatively placed the nostalgic pieces of jewelry where they would be close to her. Her “something blue” was a tiny blue hairpin that she slid into her soft curls. We respected how Brooke and Johnathan brought in sentimental pieces to honor their family and heritages. They created a special table with photos of loved ones that were watching from above.
One of the most memorable moments took part before the ceremony when Brooke and Johnathan exchanged heartfelt letters. Both shed happy tears reading the private and loving words from one another. Once they wiped away the tears of joy, it was time to get hitched. And before they knew it, they were married!
Congratulations Brooke and Johnathan!
