We're still in the season of altered plans and rolling with the ever changing world we live in, but one thing is constant: people fall in love, get married, and begin their lives together, even if some aspects of the wedding day look a bit different than was planned for. Consuelo Zorina and David accepted all of the challenges with grace and kindness, and pivoted their planning to create a beautiful backyard space to host a private ceremony to share with their family.
One of the things I really enjoyed about spending time with Consuelo Zorina and David on their wedding day was the obviously strong bond the two shared, the type of thing where it seems like the whole world falls by the wayside when they look into each other's eyes. The pair shared a beautiful ceremony filled with meaning and tradition, including customs from handfasting to the presentation of an arrhae (unity coins). It was such a joy to watch the family participate in the ceremony in such an intimate way - David's mother officiated the ceremony, his father performed the handfasting, Consuelo Zorina's parents presented the unity coins and the veil, and her sister and brother in law placed the cord. Both sides of the family and the couple together participated in a unity candle lighting ceremony. I really enjoyed the rich traditions from both families, which transcend all of the commotion of what's going on in the world. I'm so grateful I had the opportunity to play a role in capturing these moments.
Following the ceremony, we did some family portraits before heading to Graylyn Estate for some special photos of just the newlyweds. We were being chased by a thunderstorm for a little while, but were able to capture some beautiful moments. Graylyn is such a pleasure to photograph, featuring gorgeous grounds, architecture, and rolling hills, which was perfect for capturing this couple's romantic vision. We made it to our cars just in time for the rain to start, but luckily all had calmed down by the time we reached Consuelo Zorina and David's home. Upon our return, the couple shared wedding day cupcakes (both delicious and gorgeous, by Artsy Cakesy), which was a sweet ending to their beautiful day.
Congratulations again to Consuelo Zorina & David!
