Erica, our sweet and energetic bride, first met her future husband back in 2015. On their first date, her sweet groom, Jonathan, took her out for a drink. From there, they hit it off! Jonathan was determined to date Erica - she was perfect for him! Soon enough, these two were dating, then falling in love, then engaged, and then planning a wedding. Then a pandemic happened. Like many couples, they had to reschedule their big day for 2021.
These two got married on a Spring Day at the St. Pius X church. Although Erica and Jonathan’s wedding was full of details and surprises, our favorite part of the day was the sacred ceremony at St. Pius X. The priest gifted the couple with symbolic gifts for their future together. First, a piece of barbed wire. This represented protection over the marriage. “If you want one thing that makes all the difference, it's praying daily... they need to protect their daily habit of praying together.” Second, he gifted them whistles "to get each other's attention... to never let anything come between you.” Third, he gifted them mirrors "to reflect on whether what you are doing is grounded in love.” Lastly, he gifted them a Bible to use together as husband and wife.
Once they were both united together, we headed over to their reception at the Cadillac Service Garage in Greensboro. The grand reception hall was full of the sound of laughter, the chimes of the mariachi band, and an amazing party!
Congratulations Erica and Jonathan!
