I loved photographing Anna & Jerry's intimate wedding and reception at JH Adams in in High Point, NC this summer. It feels like I say this most weeks, but it's always true - I have the privilege of working with some of the sweetest, kindest, most joy-filled couples on the planet (or at least on this side of NC), and Anna & Jerry were no exception. This was one of those situations where COVID was not about to stop these two from tying the knot! Instead of waiting another year, they chose to be married now and hold off on the big celebration until next August (Anna + Jerry: The Wedding, Part Deux).
I'm really loving the idea of people doing the intimate weddings now and having a big party to celebrate once all is safe. For some, the right time to get married is now, even if it isn't exactly the right time to have a big party. But who says you can't celebrate your reception with all of your friends & extended family for your anniversary? I think the thing that stuck with me the most is that, regardless of everything going on in the world, Anna & Jerry looked past all of that to the beauty of marriage, the joy of companionship, and the promise that the best is yet to come.
I'm looking forward to seeing the celebration that these two have planned for next summer! But in the meantime, they get to prepare for all of that as husband and wife.
Congratulations Anna & Jerry!

We'd love to chat with you about your plans for your wedding day, so let's get coffee (or tea... and possibly cookies...) and discuss the big day!
